Hotel Zona G

I booked a suite for a business trip and left after five nights of the 12 my company had paid for. I would NEVER stay here again. There are plenty of other places at similar prices in the same area, so AVOID this place at all costs. The suite had no closet, shampoo, or soap in the bathroom. The hotel is very old and the staff were very rude. Poorly installed windows wouldn't shut, so the room was extremely noisy. The restaurant downstairs played loud music until 1am every night and until 3am on weekends.

The breakfast buffet was killer, with lots of local favorites, tropical fruit, fresh juices, and great coffee. My huge suite was amazing, especially the bathroom and shower, some of the best I've seen. Very well priced for a hotel in a nice part of Bogota.

My room was tidy and cozy, just as I'd expected, and the neighborhood is safe and beautiful. For those coming from overseas, there's nothing to worry about. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, better than anyone I've encountered in hospitality, even after living in Australia and Abu Dhabi.

It was my first stay here, and it will be my last. I travel for work and have stayed in hotels in almost every city in Colombia. I strongly ask my friends not to choose this hotel. I had to stay because it was near my job and I had meetings arranged. Booking.com showed one room price, but at check-in the receptionist asked for another 22,000 pesos for hotel security, which would not be refunded. The receptionist, a woman, was very bad at dealing with clients and her facial expressions were irritating. On my first day I asked if anyone at the hotel spoke English. She said no, which was a lie: the male receptionist on the next shift spoke English and was kind and polite. The LCD TV was scratched up and couldn't be watched properly. There was no ventilation in the room. Bogota is cold, so air conditioning normally isn't needed, but the room got hot and sweaty at midnight. The refrigerator made loud noises from time to time, and in the morning there was water all over the floor. I stayed five days and four nights. At other hotels, bed sheets and pillow covers are changed daily, but here the same ones were used throughout. I paid the full amount they asked for on the first day and requested a printed bill and a copy by email. I checked out on 7 April 2021; today is 10 April 21 and I still haven't received the bill. At checkout, the receptionist said the accountant was away and couldn't provide it. I don't understand why a guest should have to work around a staff member's schedule.
