Santa Lucia Hotel Boutique Spa

I stayed at Hotel Santa Lucia Boutique Spa for two nights, Nov 22-24. It's handy for the historic center, and fine if all you need is a place to sleep nearby. But the experience didn't live up to the hotel's name or price. My room wasn't cleaned during the stay, and there were no basics in it, not even shampoo or coffee. Service was the weakest part. On Sundays the central area turns into a big flea market selling very cheap second-hand stuff. It gets crowded, noisy, and pretty dirty, which made the location feel uncomfortable.

Everything is easy to reach on foot, including the main landmarks and museums. The staff are great, always helpful whatever you need, and they give good recommendations for activities. The sauna works really well, and the sports room is fully functional. It's clean, the breakfast is tasty, and the price is very affordable.

We spent four nights here, both after arriving and before leaving. It's a hidden gem by Carrera 17, the largest pedestrian street, and just 600 meters from plaza bolivar, so the area is very walkable. The rooms are spacious, with a nice attached bathroom, and the courtyard is the best feature. Breakfast on the second floor is good enough and better than what you'd get outside. Above all, the staff are friendly, helpful, and prompt.

The location is convenient for getting around, though the neighboring area can look a little sketchy. The fresh-made breakfast was good, nothing fancy. I had a standard single junior room that was nice, but the shower stayed cold with only spurts of warm water, even after running it for 10 minutes. I'd recommend it to seasoned travelers looking for a deal.
