Selina Chapinero Bogotá

I planned my itinerary around staying here, so now I have to start over. I booked and paid three months before my trip, but almost a month before I was due to travel, they canceled the room without warning or explanation. To me, that's disrespectful and unprofessional. I've tried asking why, but haven't received an answer. They only tell me it was canceled. If I could, I'd give zero stars.

We had the studio apartment, but it was basically just a regular double room, and the room itself wasn't anything special. The pictures made it look much nicer. There weren't any towels, either, so I had to ask for them. For what it cost, the value was terrible. Most of all, this place was awful if you wanted to sleep. Music blasted every night until 3 a.m., like being in a nightclub, and the website never mentioned it. I expected more after my first stay at a Selina. This was the worst accommodation of our three-week trip, and the most expensive too.

We enjoyed our couple of days here. It’s an older building, but still a very nice place, with a nice room and great service. Restaurants and shops are about a 10-minute walk away. I also liked the activities and amenities they offer. This was our fourth Selina, and our favorite.

The kitchen was fantastic, and the staff were incredibly nice and helpful. But the rooms and bathrooms were a huge letdown, and this was the worst Selina we've stayed at. We booked a private room with a shared bathroom, without being told in advance that it would be a tiny room with no window. It also didn't match the pictures for the room we chose on Hostelworld. There was planned maintenance on our first night, so we understood the water would be off. But we stayed three nights, and there was no water the whole time. We couldn't shower, and the toilets backed up and filled with human waste. You could smell it from the hall, which was dark and depressing. Nothing about it was like Selina Medellin.
