The front desk was helpful when I asked for a refund for my remaining night, but by then I’d already decided to leave and check into the Hampton. I’d booked online with breakfast included, only to be told in the morning that it cost extra. That was the last straw. This might work if you’re traveling alone and only need a cheap bed and shower, but I wasn’t impressed. As another guest had mentioned, they charge an extra $50K pesos for a second person. The hotel is open in the middle, with two windows facing that area. I could hear traffic and the occasional person in the hallway at night. The bed wasn’t great, and the pillows were terrible, one as hard as a brick and the other too soft. Maybe they were the problem.

The staff are wonderful, the service is great, and I really enjoyed the breakfast. The slow Wi-Fi and lack of shampoo and conditioner in the rooms were drawbacks. Checking in and out was a tedious, complicated process. They charged more IVA at checkout without explaining that at the start. I’d booked three nights and paid what I thought was the full IVA for the stay, but it turned out to cover only one day. I would have paid anything due, but I didn’t like being charged extra without being told upfront.

The staff are kind and accommodating. The noisy surroundings are the main problem, with heavy traffic and discotecas playing music late on nearly every night. I stay here only because I travel for business and can’t choose my lodging.

The restaurant’s seviche was great, and they’ll pay attention to dietary needs if you ask. The staff are caring and very kind, especially Mr. Nelson and miss Lady.
