Hotel Isla Mayor

The hotel itself is beautiful and the service is excellent, but it’s not a good place to get rest. If you have another option, stay there, because you won’t get any sleep here.

There are chiripas and cockroaches in the rooms, and it’s lacking toilets.

The room was comfortable, everything worked, and I had a pleasant night. The young man at reception was attentive, and the location was excellent. The bathroom, though, needs maintenance and more cleaning. It could definitely be improved.

We had a room on the fifth floor, so we could look out over everything and gossip to our heart’s content. There’s parking, and the cleaning ladies were very kind. The rest of the staff were friendly too. We arrived at 4:00 AM and were charged extra; we weren’t sure anyone would open the door, but they did. A shopping center, restaurants, and a D1 supermarket are just a few meters away. The location is good, though I think the hotel is on an avenue, and the motorcycle noise was really annoying. Since our room faced the street, it was hard to sleep. The area also has many homeless people. There was an accident, and someone tried to steal the ambulance. Luckily, the police caught the thief. That’s part of the experience too, even though it’s outside the hotel’s control.
