I stayed by myself, went walking after 8PM, and didn't run into any trouble, so I'm not sure where the reports about danger come from. The area is dirty and noisy at night, though, which comes with being right in the city center. For 30k, the hotel is great value. Staff are super polite and attentive, and the rooms get cleaned daily with fresh towels and toiletries. Very much recommended.

The front desk person was nice, and the wifi worked well. My room was clean, but the shower was just a fixed hose with no showerhead, and the water was freezing. There aren't really any amenities outside the rooms. The couches are used by the cleaning staff to fold blankets and laundry, so there's nowhere to sit and relax. At 30 000 COP, I can't complain.

I didn't feel safe in the surrounding area.

There are a lot of homeless people around, and the area feels unsettling.
