Hostal Casa del Gato - Hostel

I stayed two nights, and at first the place seemed nice and relaxing. Then we started waking up with what we thought were mosquito bites. When we woke and saw bugs crawling on us, we realized they were bed bugs. I also spotted a few on the bed during the day.

I liked this place a lot. It's a pretty good hostel with a pool, and it's really peaceful, so it isn't much of a fit for party people. They don't offer as much information about things to do in Cali as some other hostels in the area.

The dorm lockers are spacious, and we liked the fresh air in the second part of the dorm. We paid 23k each for the dorm. There's a big pool for cooling off, plenty of room overall, a large kitchen, a TV, a chill area, and one hammock. The full bathroom has a tub and a separate shower, though there's no hot water in the dormitory. There wasn't much water coming through the pipes late at night because of El Niño and the heat, so water had to be saved. I'm not sure whether that was the city of Cali or the hostel doing the saving. There's one cat, called gato, and pets are allowed. Highly recommended.

The cost was very good and the service was excellent. I'd use them again.
