The location is good, but the hotel feels worn and really needs a renovation. My room’s AC quit several times, and the bathroom had an unpleasant sewer odor. Cleaning and general upkeep also need attention because the room didn’t seem properly serviced. Breakfast was fine, though there weren’t many amenities, and the few towels, pillows, and toiletries provided were modest in quality. It didn’t live up to the Movich standard I’ve experienced in Barranquilla and Cartagena.

We were in Cali for a wedding and found the hotel in a safe, pleasant part of the city, with plenty of restaurants nearby as well as the hotel’s own restaurant. The included breakfast was delicious: you could order à la carte, and keep ordering. Our room was large and clean, and they accommodated my call asking to change rooms before we arrived. I’d wanted a king bed, but the room had a queen, which wasn’t especially comfortable. Service and location were excellent.

The hotel’s location was convenient while I was there for COP16. Communication took some effort because the staff spoke very little English, though that was understandable. The restaurant was a bigger problem: basic food and painfully slow service, with meals taking more than 30 minutes. That was tough with my tight COP schedule. Prices had also been raised for COP, which I expected.

Breakfast was the highlight for me, probably the best I’ve had at a hotel. It’s a lovely place in one of Cali’s nicest neighborhoods, close to good restaurants and nightlife. The wooden floors give it a quaint feel.
