NH Boulevard Del Río Cali

The location in the center is very good, the room was spacious, breakfast was good, and the staff were nice. We stayed six days, though, and had a string of problems, big and small. At breakfast, room service brought the wrong meal, and the wrong eggs. The breakfast runs until 10, but by 9:20 around 20-30% of the items were gone, including glasses, fruit, juice, and pastries. On Monday morning I waited five minutes for a table, not because they were all in use, but because half still had leftovers on them. The waitresses weren't lazy, there just weren't enough of them for the rush. The cleaning lady had trouble replacing used towels left on the floor and hung them back with the clean ones. The bathroom had no ventilation, and during a long hot bath the room's fire alarm went off, apparently because of that. Reception shut it off when I called, but nobody came to check. They seemed used to it. A curtain fell off its rack and was fixed right away, but fell again two days later. I asked the night receptionist to check on a driver for sightseeing the next day. He said he'd leave the answer and details with the morning receptionist, but she knew nothing about it. I also submitted laundry to be cleaned and pressed, and the receptionist approved the form. When it came back unpressed, they said they don't offer pressing, despite it being marked on the form, and had calculated the extra press charge. I refused to pay at all, and they agreed.

The coffee here was probably the best in the area, and there are lots of places to eat nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful, and even pointed us to good lunch and dinner spots in surrounding neighborhoods. At NH Cali Boulevard del Rio, our room was clean and spacious. We'd absolutely stay again.

The open central area was a highlight. When the weather is nice, they open the retractable roof, which makes breakfast especially pleasant. The hotel was quiet, particularly in an interior room, and parking for visitors isn't offered, though there's parking nearby. I spent three nights at NH Boulevard del Río Cali, Feb 11-14, 2025, traveling alone. The room was clean, spacious, and well air-conditioned, the bed was comfortable, and the desk worked well for laptop time. One thing I learned: keep the bathroom door shut for a hot shower. Steam set off the smoke alarm, which was my mistake. I had a great stay and would recommend it.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Still, we had poor communication about the free breakfast they offered. We weren't told in time and missed it. There was a slight gas smell in our room, which they said came from the water heater, and I began feeling unwell, so they moved us to a nicer room. At checkout they agreed to refund the two nights, but we haven't received the money.
