B Haus Hotel Boutique

The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and well placed inside the city center’s stone walls. Most places are an easy 10-15 minute walk away. The bed was comfortable, and the amenities, including liquid soap, shampoo, conditioner, and hydrating cream, were nice. All the employees were extremely kind. Daniela especially made an impression with her genuine smile and best efforts to help. Breakfast is why I’m giving four stars instead of five. It seems to be run as a service by a third party, and the choices are severely limited: you pick one item from a menu with just three options, and you can’t go back for more like at a buffet. The breakfast staff also seemed much less prepared to be kind than the hotel staff. I felt treated quite differently, and one time a woman brought my fruit with her finger touching it as she held the plate. I’d stay at the hotel again and recommend it if you eat lightly in the morning and don’t care much about the breakfast service. One other thing, most taxis don’t seem to know the hotel name, as if it were new, though finding the location itself is easy. There’s a place to exchange currency right across the street and a grocery store a block away.

A lovely little hotel in the beautiful walled city. The restaurant food was amazing, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and great. Sammy, the night desk clerk, was especially helpful and made us feel very safe. Sammy is an ex Colombian special forces member and a multi medal awards recipient. They do speak Spanish, so pick up a few basics and go from there. I’ll definitely come back.

The location is great, but there are many better nearby options, often for substantially less. B Haus promotes itself as a 4-star hotel and charges accordingly, yet the rooms are tiny and windowless. They were crawling with bugs when we arrived. Avoid it.

The staff were very friendly, but the stay wasn’t worth the money and I wouldn’t return or recommend it to friends. Our room had no windows, the TV didn’t work, and the toilet was broken. There was no sound insulation, so we were woken every morning at 7am. Breakfast was average and the coffee was terrible.
