The room was in bad shape: there was no soap, the toilet paper was left on the toilet, the sheets smelled awful, and the utensils still had dried food on them. When I bought beer one night for 5,000 pesos each, they couldn't give me change. I got to the hotel around 12:30 pm after flying from Washington DC to Cartagena, Colombia, and heard the front desk arguing with a customer who showed an email confirming an 11:00 am check-in. She wanted to check in earlier and was asked to pay 70,000 pesos. She agreed because she was tired, and since I'd heard the whole thing, I agreed to pay too. I wouldn't stay here again. It wasn't worth it.

The price was okay, but my room wasn't available when I arrived. I'd booked through Booking.com three months earlier, and they said they couldn't find the reservation. I had to pay for one night while I looked for somewhere else. The place felt a little old.

The location was convenient and quiet, within walking distance of Getsemani and the walled city, and our room was spacious with a large balcony. That was about all I liked. The bed shook like an earthquake whenever either of us moved at night. We asked for cleaning on the third day, but came back to an untouched room. I asked reception twice for fresh towels, and the second time they said someone would bring them right away. They never arrived. The shower only had cold water. In Cartagena's heat it was actually pleasant, so that wasn't a big issue. There was no luggage storage either, so we had to put our bags in a pool locker. The poor service really let the place down.

Reception staff were really sweet and helpful, though I had to follow up a couple of times to get information I'd requested. The room was okay, and there wasn't any hot water in the bathroom. It's an easy walk to Getsemani, which was the best part. The accommodation was fine and did the job, but felt a bit soulless, with very little character.
