The location in CTG worked well, away from trouble but still within a 10-minute walk of the waterfront and gate. Finding the entrance was confusing, though, since there's just one door with little to identify it. The official photos are flattering. In the narrow patio the pool is dark in the afternoon, and the rooms are dark too. Our ground floor room had no windows, and its interior walls made it feel cold and a bit sketchy. The safe was tiny and partly detached from the wall. Air conditioning, hot water, and water pressure were all good. The room was also affected by the entrance: hallway lights or the main doorbell were noticeable all night. On top of that, a rental venue right next door held a wedding with live music and a DJ. The music was blasting, and with the thin walls and doors we couldn't sleep from 11pm to 3am. It was so loud you couldn't hear yourself speak, and the bass was overwhelming. I would have expected the hotel to let us know about the event. The Google location is off too, the place is about 50m north along the street.

The service itself was excellent, but this was a terrible hotel. Music played loudly every night and was especially unbearable on Saturday. The owner refused to address it, though it seemed like doing so could have resolved the problem. She berated guests, and her granddaughter did the same the next day. Who treats guests like that and expects to rent rooms? Do not book here.

The hotel is right in the city centre, close to the beaches, which is an excellent location. But you have to wait for someone to open the outside door, and the room doors are very old and don't feel as secure as you'd expect. There was almost no sound isolation, so travelling with a partner meant no privacy. Breakfast was okay, but nothing special.

It's a shame, because the building is lovely and could be great. The rooms were dirty and in poor condition, and the manager seemed to stay in the office while the place fell apart. We moved to a nearby spot that was cheaper and cleaner, though it didn't have nearly as much character. I believe the award still on the wall was well deserved when the place won it 10 years ago.

The location is good, but the room was dirty, smelly, mouldy, falling apart, and loud. I didn't feel safe as a woman travelling alone and couldn't sleep. I stayed the first night only because I arrived late and had to leave at 6am for diving. I left after one night, but they charged me for both nights without an apology. I should have listened to the reviews.
