Casa Digna

The place was shut when I arrived, even though I’d prepaid through Expedia in March 2025. They’d texted the day before to say they would be there, but after I called and sent messages, nobody answered. Expedia eventually refunded me. This felt like a scam. Do NOT stay there.

The standout for us was the care from Doña Gloria and Señor Ulisses. They were thoughtful and gave the place the kind of hospitality we really value. We booked four nights at "Casa Dinia" for the end of Nov23 while traveling as a couple in our mid-fifties, already on the road for over five years. The roof terrace, especially in the evening, has a lovely view over the rooftops. There’s also a welcoming courtyard, a well-equipped shared kitchen and fridge, and spacious rooms with plenty of storage, big comfortable beds, and reliable WiFi. Everything was clean and very well looked after, and the AC, fan, and other systems worked perfectly. It’s a peaceful spot in Getsemani’s old town, though weekends can get a little noisy during the day. We’d gladly return and recommend it to travelers looking for these qualities.

The staff made us feel at home as soon as we arrived, always being friendly, attentive, and easy to reach. We spent three nights at Casa Digna and could easily have stayed a month. It’s close to the neighborhood’s bars and restaurants, but far enough away to escape their noise, and the historic center is a pleasant walk away. The house is beautiful, and the rooms are comfortable, practical, and very clean. We’d happily book it again on a return to Cartagena, and highly recommend it.

Casa Digna is a beautiful house in a safe, well located spot. I stayed five nights and loved it, especially how kind the staff were. I’d definitely recommend it.
