At checkout, the manager accused us of letting our kids color the room walls and tried to charge us for damage we hadn't caused. Luckily, my wife had date-stamped photos from when we checked in that showed the marks were already there. Otherwise, we might have been billed for repainting the hotel. Those accusations were unacceptable, and we don't recommend the place. There was another embarrassing issue with breakfast. Although it was included in our reservation and we'd paid in full, staff questioned us at check-in about whether we'd paid. They checked again and confirmed it, then the next morning questioned us about payment at the breakfast table because their system couldn't find it. A few minutes later they confirmed the payment again. The whole stay was disappointing.

The only annoying part was getting through the front door. It's locked around the clock, so you have to wait outside for staff to let you in. Otherwise, this was a great hostel, with friendly people, especially Yeiler, who was very helpful. It's in the heart of Manga, within walking distance of restaurants and shops. Beds and pillows were comfortable, the rooms had good A/C, and breakfast had a great selection.

The owner was a wonderful host to a big group of American college students, helping them when they needed it, teaching them salsa, and spending time with them. He's very kind. The hotel is neat and clean, in a nice area near a marina. We also used his tourism services, including a yacht, and got a very good deal. Great hotel, highly recommended!

Everyone was welcoming and kind, and I loved the fresh breakfast served each morning. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and had AC. The only thing I missed was hot water. The hotel is a quick 20-minute walk to the Center, or just a few minutes by Uber from downtown. I'd definitely suggest booking here in Cartagena.
