Dreams Karibana Cartagena Golf & Spa Resort - All Inclusive

It's a quiet spot, a little way from town but not too far, and just right if you want to relax. The resort is beautiful and clean, and everyone was friendly and attentive. The food was great and the drinks tasted good, though the alcohol was definitely watered down. I think most resorts do that, unfortunately, and I had the preferred option with a better alcohol selection. My only other complaint is that the pool area closed at 6, which felt too early. Laura, William, and Jesus really stood out to me, and there are other staff names I'll come back and add later. I'd stay here again.

The staff were wonderful, the massages were great, and we had a good preferred room. We loved the golf, the beach and beach pool, and especially Portofino. We still had a great vacation with a wonderful group of people, but this was our least favorite of the resorts we've visited, and I wouldn't personally return. Food was the biggest letdown. Portofino was the only restaurant where we liked the food, aside from the really good burgers at the barefoot bar, so we ended up going to Portofino every night. People in our group got sick after eating at a few other restaurants, and the buffet was genuinely awful, especially breakfast. The pools, drink cups, showers, and other areas also seemed dirty. There wasn't much to do, and the evening activities they did have started very late. In the evenings there was nowhere to gather except the lobby bar. We wished there were a sports bar, club, lounge, or something along the lines of what other resorts offer. There was no menu of non-alcoholic drinks either, though we're used to mocktails or something at Secrets and Dreams resorts. The spa menu was misleading about the water journey available at other Secrets and Dreams. It listed a cold pool, hot pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, head massage, and more, but they had less than half of that. There were no jacuzzis at the spa or head massage, and they charged 65 per person for basically swimming in a cold pool. They should update the menu. Even with all that, we loved our vacation.

Food was okay, though I don't know what resort is really known for amazing food. If you want authentic local cuisine, I always suggest eating at local restaurants. What made this stay special was the hospitality. Every employee made us feel welcome and looked after from the moment we arrived. Jhonathan, Emily, Mauricio, and Erkin were especially wonderful to my wife and me. They were kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. I wish I could bring them all home! Whoever hires here clearly knows how to find generous, dedicated people. We spent six nights here, one of our best stays ever, and we'll definitely be back.

We went with friends and all had a fantastic time. Dreams Karibana Cartagena in Colombia is beautiful, with very nice, clean rooms, friendly staff, delicious food, and restaurants and room service I can't praise enough. Gamaliel, the poolside Activities Coordinator, was energetic, friendly, and got everyone involved, which made for a great time. Elkin, our poolside waiter, was attentive and has a great personality.
