The food at the terrace restaurant is delicious and the service there is excellent. Samir and Marlons were exceptional. Rooms are spacious but haven't been upgraded, and there's no phone in the room, so you have to scan a code and contact reception on WhatsApp. The pool is fine and has a pleasant view, though city wires get in the way. Staff were mostly very friendly, especially Rembert the bellboy and Luis, the tall man at reception. Security guard Rafael, though, doesn't treat guests with respect or good manners. Before booking, know the rules for visitors: after 10pm you can't have any, and before then they can only meet you in the common areas. You're not allowed to have a beer in your room with friends unless you pay extra for them as if they were staying at the hotel. It made me feel like I was in boarding school or a prisoner. Ridiculous. It's an old-fashioned hotel in Getsemani. Breakfast is included, perhaps that's why they don't put much effort into improving it. Bars and restaurants in Getsemani are within walking distance. If you don't want to walk, Uber is safe and cheap.

We had a really good one-night stay. The two-level room worked perfectly for our family of three, and the staff were helpful. The rooftop pool and bar have a great view over the walled city and Castillo, while the hotel’s Cartagena design and feeling of safety made it a comfortable place to be. It’s very close to Plaza la Tridad, but far enough away to stay quiet. Breakfast was great too.

The staff were lovely throughout our two nights, and they even tracked me down after I left my hat on the rooftop and brought it back to me. My friend and I each had our own space in the room, with separate upstairs and downstairs areas and two beds. We also had a peaceful lunch on the roof. There’s a pretty courtyard in the middle, with trees and a few tables, and the hotel is a short walk from the center of the popular Getsemaní area. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Cartagena.

We were comfortable and slept safely, though we did have a small problem with the safe. The rooms were spacious and had the amenities we needed. Staff were welcoming and checked that everything was to our satisfaction. My family and I loved the rooftop, especially the pool and the amazing drinks. The location made it easy to enjoy the city, and we’d definitely return.
