Affinity Aparta Hotel

We had a lovely time in Medellín, and the room at Affinity had a great view, cold aircon, and a kitchen that worked well enough for us. It felt safe, and the daily cleaning option was handy even though we often didn't need it. The cleaning crew were wonderful, and the front desk staff always greeted us and helped us find things to do. They also recommended a laundry service. We stayed for about a month in Jan/Feb 2021 while working remotely. We needed a clean, safe place to work, and also wanted restaurants, bars, and shops nearby. The attached restaurant offered other food and wine for an extra cost. We ordered a few bottles and enjoyed them on our balcony many nights. Breakfast was included each morning, usually coffee or tea, fruit, and a croissant or toast. Most mornings it was great, but sometimes part of it was missing or the drinks weren't hot. The internet was slow because, apparently, an undersea line had broken. My partner had few major problems with business video calls, but my videos took all night to upload a few times a week. That wasn't Affinity's fault. The shower was frustrating. The water was hot at first, then went very cold every 2-3 minutes. We worked out that turning it off and back on made it hot again. There's a gym and sauna at the sister hotel, but the gym is tiny and has little equipment. If all you need is a treadmill or elliptical, it's fine. Otherwise, I recommend paying for the gym two minutes up the road. The room photos were taken on our last day, so excuse the mess. One bridge photo was taken through the kitchen window and the other view from our balcony. They really are beautiful views.
