The apartment’s location was fine, but we found it uncomfortable, and there didn’t seem to be much interest in giving guests a good experience. The problems started right away: the listing photos were misleading and looked nothing like the place. For our weeklong stay with 10 people, we were given just three toilet paper rolls, with no hand soap, cleaning cloths, or floor cleaner. We also got only one set of keys, which made getting around as a group difficult. The gate had a basic padlock that we were told to use for our safety, instead of a proper lock. On the first day, we saw a huge cockroach in a kitchen cabinet and a smaller one in a bedroom, which made us question how clean the apartment was. The walls had grime marks and cracks. Mattresses were hard and uncomfortable, the TVs didn’t work, and one bathroom window was stuck. The drain smell in that bathroom was unbearable. We never had hot water, the showers had very weak pressure, and the air conditioner in one room smelled musty. When we raised all this with the “super host,” we got no response. They only said they’d fix things right away after we complained through the app, and nothing was ever fixed. They also wouldn’t give us any flexibility at checkout, even though we asked for at most one extra hour.
