Hotel Casa de Las Palmas

Our room was huge, elegant, and full of history. This was one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve visited in South America.

There are plenty of places to relax, with hammocks and sofas, plus a small pool and jacuzzi. The staff were friendly, and the hotel itself was really nice. Our bed was comfortable, and the large bathroom looked renovated. The room’s old-fashioned wooden furniture suited the building and its atmosphere. The shower let it down, though, with very low water pressure at times. Breakfast was a disappointment: very few choices and so little food it was barely a meal. The people serving it didn’t seem to know what good service involves and put in no effort. Our stay wasn’t bad, but it was far from great, and next time I’d try somewhere else.

The location is great, and the place has a calm, pleasant atmosphere. You have to ring to be let in, which also makes it feel safe. But I wouldn’t stay again. The rooms are clean but very outdated, there’s no hot water, and the pressure is very low. The jacuzzi was so dirty I didn’t use it. The family has several dogs, and sometimes they poop on the floor. There’s no elevator, so it’s not a good choice with heavy luggage.

The hospitality was warm, and I felt very safe. It was fairly quiet for the location, and they do have hot water and air conditioning. A great authentic stay, and I’d definitely come back!
