The hotel cancelled my reservation just days before my flight, even though I’d booked months ahead. They gave almost no explanation and offered no help, so I had to find another hotel when there was hardly anything left in the city. We’re now in a bad area, and this has been incredibly frustrating. After traveling to more than 15 countries, I’ve never had anything like this happen. Beware. They had also cancelled on my travel companion a few weeks earlier, again without explanation or contact. I wonder if they cancel existing bookings to make space for guests who offer more money. If you need a reliable place to stay in Cartagena, stay far away. There are plenty of better options, and you don’t want to be left stranded.
