Hotel Paseo Bolivar

A nice place for a night’s stay, with good service. They sell cold drinks to keep you going all night, and the price is good too.

The staff were very friendly, and there’s a parking lot just around the corner, though the hotel itself has no parking. We paid $120,000 for a night for three people. Our room had only a fan, no air conditioning, and the heat was stifling all night. The bathroom offered no privacy, just a curtain, and with the fan running you could see through from one side to the other. It was impossible to get comfortable in the heat. The shower had barely any water pressure and an uncomfortable temperature. With no partition, water flooded the bathroom, so after showering you could get your clothes or shoes wet when using the toilet.

The staff were friendly, and the air conditioning worked really well. The location is central in a very busy area, though I personally didn’t find it dangerous. I wouldn’t recommend it for families. On some days it turns into a motel. There’s a bar next to the hotel, and couples come up from there. They make a lot of noise and nobody does anything about it, even with children around and families trying to rest. Some rooms have a strange smell, and the rooms don’t have bathroom doors.

On weekends, noise from the businesses nearby can get pretty loud. I hope it eases when liquor sales are low.
