Hotel Valmar

We booked four nights but could only stay one because of the problems, and the hotel offered no compensation. The rooms were in poor shape, with damp smells, dirty walls, broken bathroom windows, and a rusty minibar. It's in a non-touristy neighborhood that seemed dangerous, and there aren't restaurants nearby. Nothing like the listing, and I wouldn't recommend it.

The neighborhood is rough, and you have to pay in cash. Be careful with your money, since there's no safe in the rooms and nowhere to store valuables or cash. For what we lost at this hotel, we could've stayed somewhere better in a better area. Maybe it's suitable for short stays.

The bed was fantastic, the facilities were good, and the staff were incredibly attentive. It's a good option if you're trying to save money. The neighborhood may seem dangerous, but it isn't. In the morning or afternoon, shared taxis make it convenient to get to the city center, though at night you'll need a taxi. There are lots of shops nearby, plus a place across the street selling delicious, very cheap salchipapas, fries with sausage. I'd definitely come back.

They have the basics, but I wouldn't recommend staying here. The service was very poor: I was left outside for at least an hour in the early morning, waiting for someone to open up. The beds need cleaning. I was bitten on the neck, and the wounds took several days to heal.
