Casa Verena - Hostel

The kitchen was right beside our room, and whenever we tried to sleep, one of the staff would start cooking. Meanwhile, another employee seemed to have the first-floor couch to themselves, sitting there constantly. The staff seemed more at home than the guests. Not great when you’re sick and need to rest.

We stayed at hostel casa verena in March 2019. A fake guest broke open the locker and stole our backpack from inside the hostel, leaving us with a loss of nearly 3,000 reais. The hostel promised to pay us, said it had insurance, and said it would handle the refund process. To this day, nobody has contacted us or answered our emails. It’s pure neglect toward customers, and dishonest.

Nine months have passed since the hostel owner said she would repay part of what we lost, and she has never answered my emails. Our locker was broken into and we were robbed. Pure dishonesty.

The staff are attentive and ready to help with whatever questions or needs come up during your stay. Rooms are roomy, comfortable, and have private bathrooms, with affordable prices. They also adapt to you as your stay goes along. I recommend it.
