Hotel Monterrey

The front desk was helpful, and the hotel has a classic feel. Its location makes it easy to get everywhere, and I really liked the rooftop pool. Bring your own washcloths since they don’t provide them, and your own beach towel too, because they charge if their towels get stained. We had a really good stay and I’d recommend it.

The staff were lovely, and the hotel was clean with the basic amenities. The location is great for going out and walking around the square, but music plays until midnight. That made things a bit difficult during our three-night stay.

The rooms were spotless, the beds comfortable, and breakfast offered a tasty range of choices. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We couldn’t hear the construction happening outside the front of the hotel from our room, which was a nice surprise. The rooftop has a small pool, a bar, and a beautiful city view, and the hotel is in a fantastic location. I’d happily stay again and recommend it. Two things kept this from being a five-star stay: our balcony door wouldn’t close fully, so breakfast setup noise woke me early, and the rooftop bar sometimes had no one working, even in the evening. We would have loved to have drinks up there.

There’s a lot of construction around the hotel, and it was extremely loud, making it hard to use the pool or rooftop. Our shower also leaked badly enough to leave water in the bedroom. On arrival, they couldn’t find our booking, and getting a room took about 45 minutes. It was a pretty painful start.
