Hotel Don Gregorio

My friends and I were kicked out of the shared restaurant, garden, and pool area for bringing our own sandwiches to eat in the garden. Nobody even explained it politely, they just told us we couldn’t eat there. I walked out with my half-eaten sandwich and told the staff I wouldn’t come back. My school sends students here every week, and I’m a pilot student, so we’re regular visitors. I changed my rating from 2 stars to 1. For a place that seems to target guests of relatively high social status, the standards don’t match. The towels are very worn and turning yellowish, the restaurant food isn’t very good, and shampoo costs extra. I don’t really like it here.

The food was greasy, not fully cooked, nasty, and came in very small portions. It arrived without utensils or napkins. The waiters didn’t seem coordinated or know when the kitchen opened and closed, and one complained that someone higher up had criticized her for taking orders after closing. The food and service were bad, and the manager needs to stay on top of customer service. The organization was terrible too. People should look around twice before planning a stay here. I’m sorry, but I had to say it.

There’s plenty for breakfast and the pool is lovely, with comfortable beds in the simple rooms. There aren’t any vegetarian options, and the bathrooms could use more hooks and shelves.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and everything was clean and organized. There’s a beautiful pool and a nice breakfast. It works well for couples, business trips, and kids.
