We left after two nights instead of the three planned because the stay was so far from what we expected. This felt more like glamping than a hotel, and I’ve had better glamping stays. I’d suggest planning for that and keeping it to a night or two, perhaps with a day trip on either side. The rooms are basically beds in large wooden cabins: a few small shelves, two big wooden chairs and a hammock outside, but nowhere else comfortable to sit or lie down. There’s no hot water, air conditioning, TV or shampoo, and the shower leaked across the bathroom, which stayed wet throughout our visit. The doors and walls let in light and noise from the hallway and neighboring rooms, so we could hear conversations. Bugs also came through the balcony door. We killed about five cockroaches in two days. We were told the last boat left at 3 pm, then on the day were told it was 1 pm. We had to abandon lunch halfway through to make it. My partner had repeatedly messaged the office lady on WhatsApp beforehand and got no response. Luggage wasn’t allowed on the boat, unlike at similar hotels, because theirs is relatively small. The website describes rooms with modern comforts and exclusive services, alongside carefully staged photos. That doesn’t match what’s provided. I understand this is an isolated place, but the management seems to be selling something they don’t have. The local native community we visited had better accommodation and satellite TV, so basic amenities seem possible. I never saw any of the three owners on site. If they were interested, I’d expect them to be there regularly and ask guests for feedback. The staff at the property were friendly and doing their best, especially Diana, who was amazing, but management let them down. No staff member spoke English. Tours need to be booked ahead, and there were no afternoon snacks, drinks or yoga, so there wasn’t much to do without a full day of activities. Food was okay, but it wasn’t labeled, serving times sometimes ran late and some dishes ran out. On our last morning, the water and electricity were out for several hours. We were disappointed by the whole experience.

The thin walls meant we could hear our neighbors snoring, which was unpleasant. More than that, we ended up stuck at the hotel with nothing to do. We’d been told several times, two months ahead, that tours could be booked on the day. But when we arrived, the woman in Leticia said only the night walk was available. Then at the hotel, tours were already getting ready and we weren’t on one. We asked what we could do and were told we should have booked, but by then everything had left and there were no activities. We came to the Amazon for something unique, not to sit around at a hotel all day. We can do that anywhere. Truly disappointing.

The staff really looked after us, and the food and surroundings were wonderful. We had a great time in June and would definitely come back. 🦜💞

The location was fine, around 30 minutes from Leticia by boat. Most of the staff were kind and helpful, but management made the stay frustrating. Event, facility and meal times kept changing or weren’t honored, often running an hour late. Tour details were inaccurate, and information was generally hard to get. We also felt stuck relying on the hotel, since it only allowed its own tours and boat operators. There aren’t other restaurants nearby, so we brought wine and a corkscrew to celebrate our friends’ engagement. We opened the bottle ourselves, but the next day the hotel said it would charge us $20 as an uncorking fee. That’s a wild price anywhere, especially in Colombia, where we live in Bogota. Management should be much better about sharing accurate information and sticking to what they say.

The food was excellent, and Chef Will really knows local cuisine. He’s professional and helpful, and I got to try several kinds of fish, all of which I loved. Everyone from the front desk to the bartender was great. Johanna, the manager, was lovely and helpful, and checked in each time we saw her to see how things were going or if we needed anything. The reservation and trip communications were excellent too. WiFi worked okay, which is understandable this far out. There’s no AC, so I’d suggest putting a large fan in the dining area and a floor fan in each room. I’ll definitely return!
