The hotel was sparkling clean from top to bottom, and the restaurant food was awesome. They even had stevia for my coffee. I got very sick while backpacking in Colombia, and found out during my stay at Kur hotel in Duitama that there was a doctor’s office and pharmacy inside. They treated me right away with modern and alternative medicine, including vitamin IVs and herbal extracts, at a great cost compared with Canada or the USA. The front desk kept checking that I was feeling better and had what I needed, which was unlike any hotel attention I’ve had before. I’ll stay here again.

The chat staff responds promptly, but they don’t pay attention to what you’re looking for or need. They had me travel all the way from Tunja, only to say they’d misunderstood and had no availability. Marcela

I’ve been waiting three weeks for my refund after cancelling a reservation. The hotel said it would take eight days, and now they aren’t answering calls asking for an update. Awful.

The walking path leads up to a viewpoint with a mesmerizing view. The rustic facilities also have some lovely animals, and the colonial-style rooms are charming, warm, and comfortable, so you don’t feel the cold outside. There’s a “clinic” here, but it has a very different feel from a typical one, and the experience was wonderful. The restaurant has a varied menu and delicious food, especially the tamales.

The service was excellent. Some rooms don’t have a hairdryer or a full-length mirror, and the TV controls aren’t very reliable.
