We paid the full rate for a stay of just 10 hours, and breakfast was only a piece of bread and an egg. Hot water was available only at certain times. I could have let those things go, but the staff swore at us and treated us disrespectfully when we simply asked if they knew anything about the buses.

If you’re going on a pilgrimage from Ecuador to Las Lajas, I’d stay in Ipiales. Things cost more at the sanctuary, and the lodging and food there are very poor quality. This hotel is right in the center, with everything just steps away. The staff were friendly, and we could pay with an international credit or debit card when we didn’t have cash. They also gave us an extra 30 minutes to check out, which we really appreciated.
