The restaurant and main building are beautifully designed, with a view over the paragliding zone. It’s a pleasant place for pilots to meet, and having a drink there was nice. Hotel guests also get a small pool to enjoy in the afternoon. Our room was in a separate building, and the accommodation didn’t feel worth the price. It was very basic and furnished without much care: just beds, a ceiling light, a chair used as a bedside table, shelves for clothes, and a fan. There was no AC. The roof over the terrace did shade the room in the afternoon, so the temperature stayed acceptable. But the terrace itself was bare, with no chairs or table, only dirt and cigarette butts, plus what looked like a spot intended for a plant. The bedroom floor hadn’t been cleaned properly. We arrived late at night and I had to clean mouse droppings myself, since asking for room service wasn’t an option. The bathroom was clean, but had several maintenance problems: no small hand towel, just a worn bath mat that stayed in place; a broken faucet handle that was hard to turn; and a toilet paper holder that fell off the first time we used it, apparently after a temporary repair by previous guests. There was no mosquito screen on the bathroom window, though the bedroom window had one. Hot water was unreliable, and if we were lucky it lasted about half a minute. The food is very simple Colombian home-style cooking, with few vegetarian or vegan choices. Service was inconsistent, and we often had to ask more than once for cutlery or things that were missing. That got annoying after a couple of days. There’s basically nowhere else within walking distance, so you need a ride to Santa Elena. We paid 290,000 COP per night for two people with breakfast, about 67 EUR in 01/2026. That felt high for what we got, especially since in Bogota and Medellin we paid half as much for modern, clean, well-maintained rooms with AC and hot water. Maybe the limited accommodation at the landing site helps explain the rates, but Santa Elena is easy and inexpensive to reach, and has more places to stay, restaurants, and shops. Those options aren’t nearby here. I would’ve been glad to share this feedback privately with the manager. At checkout, though, nobody asked how our stay had gone. The only question was whether we needed paid transport onward, which left an unfortunate impression.
