We stayed one night in the double room with a balcony, which was cheaper for us, then two nights in the pricier sea view room. I’d pick the balcony room every time. It’s more than 2.5x the size, has a nicer bathroom, and one of its three walls opens onto a balcony looking over the jungle. Breakfast was good, served right on the beach, and there was plenty of coffee. The service was friendly, and there are lots of restaurants within 100m. You can hear the waves, of course, since you’re staying on the beach. We had no trouble with noise from other guests. I really enjoyed the stay and would come back.

The photos show the place pretty accurately. It has a rustic, well loved home feel, and the staff are welcoming, friendly, and happy to answer questions or chat. They also have lots of information about the area and beach activities. Breakfast is included, so it’s great value. The location is amazing, right on the beach, about 10 steps from the ocean and a two minute walk from the river.

We stayed eight nights and felt welcome the whole time. The hostel is lovely and the people are great. Kisses to Lola at the counter! It’s naturally loud, so earplugs are a good idea, though I liked hearing the waves. Watch out for beach mosquitoes and come prepared. For surfing, ask for Ivan, he’s the best instructor! Breakfast was always really good and enough for me. It changes every three days between pancakes, bread, or arepas, with fruit and eggs each time. Bring your own water, since a bottle costs 4,000, or refill at the Surf Hostel for 1,000 per liter. It costs around 10€ a night, so don’t expect too much.

Getting to the hostel means walking about 10 minutes along the sandy beach. You have to leave the car at a car park, the only option, for 25000 COP. My room was very small and had no window. The bathroom was dirty, with urine all over the WC. There was water for a shower in the evening, but none at all in the morning, so I had to go to the hostal next door. The WiFi kept coming and going.
