Monte Gandolfo

The staff were kind and tried to make us comfortable, but the place's infrastructure didn't match the price. During a rainstorm the power went out, and there was no backup generator. Since it's so remote, being left in pitch darkness was really uncomfortable. It seemed like they were aiming for a luxurious, comfortable stay but missed the mark in many ways. Getting there and getting around is a challenge unless you have a car or a driver. It's on a hill, and the dirt roads are unpaved and difficult to drive. Without your own ride, every trip out can cost a lot. There's no kitchen serving guests, so food has to be delivered from nearby. It arrived lukewarm and disappointing, and cost more than usual. Later in the evening, without a car, there aren't really other options. The jacuzzi wasn't hot enough, the jets were weak, and sitting in the slightly green, slimy water was uncomfortable. Our first-floor room was noisy from daytime until late at night because music was blasted from the stand. The room felt like a glorified trailer. It had a kitchen, but it was awkward to use, with too few utensils to cook properly, and the flame couldn't even boil water. For me, the cost wasn't justified by the amenities, and we left very disappointed. After I posted this, the owner used the personal number I had provided when booking to message me on WhatsApp. The message was unprofessional, petty, and uncalled for, and felt like an invasion of privacy. I have nothing to gain from writing this. I just want others to know how the stay went, and I hope the place learns from it and improves.

The breakfast was nice, and the view and staff were great. Good value in a nice location. I'll definitely return.
