The bathroom was tiny and smelled strongly of sewage, apparently because the shower drain had no cover. There was no soap in the bungalow, and the pool water looked so cloudy that we didn't want to swim. It was being filled or having its filter cleaned when we arrived, and to me it seemed suitable only for little kids anyway. The resort itself is peaceful, and the beach is about a five-minute walk away. Evenings can get noisy when staff play music. Electricity is available only at night or for one three-hour stretch in the daytime. The lights were deliberately turned off twice, apparently to save power, and we nearly couldn't find our bungalow without a flashlight. 😉 We only ate dinner there once because the outdoor kitchen didn't look appealing. The restaurant had water but no beer, Coca-Cola, or fruit juice, and its chairs were very uncomfortable, with no cushions. Juan Pablo, the only English-speaking employee, was friendly and helpful.

We had a great few days relaxing and enjoying Isla Grande in the Rosario Islands. The rooms were comfortable and well equipped, and there’s a pool and some really comfortable hammocks. The menu has plenty of variety, and the food was fresh and delicious. I’d definitely recommend it.

The complex is shaded by trees, and it’s just a short walk to two lovely beaches, Playa Libre and Playa Escondida. The cabins are modern, clean, and comfortable. Food was delicious, made fresh to order.

They treated us really well and let us check out late since our boat wasn't leaving until mid-afternoon. There wasn't a minibar in the room, but that was fine. We could buy cold beer from their kitchen :)

Liz, the owner, was so kind, and her family were incredibly welcoming when we got to meet them. The hotel has a warm, family-friendly feel and is quiet. We stayed one night; the pool was out of order, but they treated us to a wonderful dinner. We'd happily stay again.
