We booked Hotel El Rocio for one month, and the stay was disappointing and frustrating. The photos and listed services didn’t match what we found, and we felt trapped there. The pool leaked and never stayed full, so they kept filling it with a hose. Using the jacuzzi with hot water cost extra. Hot water for showers was available only around 6 AM to 9 AM and again from about 5 PM to 8 PM, and we constantly had to call the owner to turn it on. The water in that area is really cold. Water service at the hotel was also unreliable because the pumps had issues, and it went off many times during the day or week. Ruben, the foreman, and Martha, the Cook/Housekeeper, made the stay more liveable and less insufferable. They were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Sadly, they were fired in the last week of December over something we felt was futile and unfair, and we witnessed it. That was very sad for us. They aren’t working there anymore. At night and dawn, dogs from the neighboring farm barked constantly. Other guests were allowed to play loud music around the pool, making it impossible to sleep. The last party went on for 1 and half day despite our complaints to the owner. That was the last drop that overflew the jar. We’re sharing this so viewers of these comments know what to expect. Endless thanks again to Ruben and Martha for being kind, accommodating, available, and helpful. M & D. From Canada 🇨🇦.
