Villa Cristina - Casa Boutique

The hotel has lovely local architecture and a really good energy, with a path around the property that makes for a nice little morning hike. My mom and I also took yoga classes each morning, which left my 80-year-old mom energized enough to hike. We ate breakfast and dinner there every day, and it was all delicious. Cristina and Adri are wonderful hosts. Adri suggested activities, helped us put together an itinerary for each day, arranged a car and driver, and pointed us toward great restaurants and other interesting places. I highly recommend staying here and will definitely return next time I'm in the region.

Villa Cristina is in a beautiful, green area surrounded by nature, and the grounds are spacious and very well kept. Filandia is the closest town. There's a lovely waterfall about a 30-minute walk away, and you can also do a guided walk in the Barbas Bremen nature reserve or take a pleasant walk to the river. Cristina offers yoga classes and relaxing massages for an additional cost. You can also cook paella and sangria with both hosts, which was a great experience and highly recommended. Adria runs ecotourism activities through his travel agency, Kianga Tours, and I recommend those as well. We stayed with two friends at the beginning of July and felt at home from the moment we arrived. Cristina, the mom, and Adriá, the son, are from Barcelona and have lived there for several years with their four cute dogs. The homemade food was our favorite, so flavorful, just as you'd expect from a mom's cooking. Our room was the largest one, with lots of space, and it was clean, warm, and comfortable. The house is about a 50-minute drive from Pereira or Armenia airport, between the two cities. The access road isn't in the best shape, though they're fixing it now. Still, the journey is worth it, just bring a good car and relax. We'd love to come back!

Villa Cristina sits in the heart of Colombia's coffee region, a tourist area with amazing views and a great host. For our anniversary, Adrian made paella, and I honestly think it was the best in the whole area. We didn't have to travel overseas for a fantastic one. Villa Cristina will be our home away from home on special occasions.

The setting at Villa Cristina was peaceful, and it gave us a chance to slow down and enjoy time with our two kids, aged 6 and 9. They had fun while learning about nature, Colombian culture, and rural life. There are coffee tours and good towns to visit nearby, including Filandia and Salento, plus El Valle del Cocora and the very great zoo, Ukumari. Adria and his team were a huge help with planning our week and gave us the best service. Saludos desde Aruba!
