This was our third time at the hotel, and by far the most disappointing. We won't be back. We arrived Thursday evening at 4 pm, with just one client ahead of us and one behind, but waited more than 60 minutes to be attended to. When we asked if a colleague could help, the answer was, “she is busy.” I thought the client was king, but apparently not here. The clients after us waited more than 90 minutes. I'm a foreigner and don't have to pay taxes on hotel rooms, but they charged them anyway, and I had to claim the money back. Dinner was also a bad experience. Our waiter Luis looked and acted like he'd rather be anywhere else, which nearly put me off my food. We asked for an entrée, were told they didn't have it anymore, then saw another table get it an hour later. Room 116 smells damp and has mold on the wall. We asked to change rooms and were initially told there was no availability. Only after I raised the issue at reception in front of other clients did a room suddenly become available.

The staff are kind and the bed was comfortable, but the rest of the stay was a mess. I used to come here with my dad years ago and had a good experience then. The room was clean at first, though after a while cigarette smell kept drifting in. The bathroom badly needs renovation, and missing tiles around the pool make it easy to cut yourself. The food could also be much better. It feels like the hotel is just trying to stay afloat. Management needs to put money into general repairs and review and standardize the processes to improve the experience.
