Hostal Cactus

The family running this small bed and breakfast are lovely, and they speak English and French well. It’s right in Giron, so shops, the church, and restaurants are an easy walk away. The rooms, perhaps six or so, open onto a shared lobby and sofa area. My bed was comfortable, the bathroom was good, and everything was clean. A charming, quiet place for a relaxing stay.

It feels more like a B&B than a hostel, and the place is beautiful, quiet, and really clean. The hosts are bilingual, helpful, and on arrival suggested plenty of things to see, do, and eat. It’s close to shops and the historic district, with easy airport access. They also offer laundry service. We highly recommend Cactus Hostal!

We felt right at home here for six relaxed days. The garden, room decor, comfortable bed and pillows, and breakfast with juice, fruit, eggs, and coffee all made the stay. The hosts were friendly, and Cesar & Elena even let us check in early after our night bus, which was great hospitality. It was our favorite place during three weeks in middle Colombia. They no longer make pizza, but Elena makes amazing Arabic bread if you’re lucky enough to be invited to try it.

My wife and I came back to eat here several times while we were staying in Giron. The owners were super friendly, and the pizza was delicious. The dough was some of the best I had in Colombia.
