Casa Encuentro Ecolodge

I loved the charming two-room Violetta Suite and its beautiful lake view, and stayed for a week. I had expected the owner, who teaches yoga, to be there, so it was disappointing to learn she would be away. Her sister looked after the place, and the owner did respond to my requests. There are no meals, and although there's a small fridge, it's not really set up for preparing your own food since plates and utensils have to be rinsed in the bathroom sink. The two resident dogs also barked often, which distracted me.

Even one night here made me wish I could have stayed longer. My bedroom view, the shared spaces, and the morning yoga class gave the place a peaceful, sanctuary-like feel. It's a short walk to town, but the location still feels quiet and secluded. I highly recommend it.

I rented a kayak for the whole month and enjoyed it so much. The place sits by a calm, untouched stretch of the lake, with forest and hills across the water and no houses on the opposite bank. You can swim or kayak there, and the town is still very close. The hosts were wonderful too.

Such a lovely stay in a beautiful, peaceful place. The views were nice, and the whole place had a really good energy :)
