Coffee by the lake, birdwatching, taking the canoe out with our young daughter, and just relaxing in the hammock filled our days. We stayed three nights and wanted more time. Having traveled to many places around the world, I can honestly say Guatapé is among the most beautiful, peaceful, and safest places on my list. The food is amazing, the views are breathtaking, and they also offer the extraordinary flying boat experience. You’ll need to take a minichiva motorized vehicle into town. Such a peaceful, beautiful hidden gem, with kind and helpful staff. Totally recommend, and thank you 😊😊

The setting is lovely, with hammocks and comfortable spots to sit. It feels nicely tucked away, and the staff were warm, attentive, and made me feel at home. Breakfast came with fresh local fruit, coffee, hot cocoa, and fresh juice with nothing added.

The location is out at the very tip of a peninsula on the lake, about a 10 minute drive from town, with a beautiful view of the Rock of Guatape. The rooms are cozy and small, the wifi can be spotty, and it gets chilly, so bring a jacket. You’ll need to order a TukTuk to reach town or the Rock. Service from the Cabañas El Trebol team was a highlight: when we arrived, they brought us a jug of delicious hot chocolate, little croissants, and cheese, and gave us contact numbers for TukTuk drivers and restaurants that deliver. Really lovely stay, 6/5 for customer service.
