They cancelled our expensive stay less than 24h in advance and took no responsibility, leaving us stranded. That can really disrupt your trip and plans. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Guatape, I strongly suggest you AVOID this place. Don’t book it.

I really love the Christmas decorations and how everything looks inside. But it’s really cold, and there are no extra blankets, calefacción, or anything to warm up the room. It’s 3am and I can’t sleep because I’m so cold, with the sound of the rain too.

The cabins are new, with fantastic views, and the hot tub on the deck was great. We enjoyed breakfast on the deck each morning. The choices for the day arrived by text early in the morning: pancakes, waffles, or bacon/eggs, all served with fruit and a choice of coffee, juice, or hot chocolate. They delivered breakfast to the room. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, let us check in early, and held our bags after checkout. When we wanted to go into town, they called a Tuk Tuk for us. It was about a 6-8 min ride and cost approximately $2-3 USD. Excellent location, and I’d highly recommend Gretel Chalets Suizos.

The staff were really attentive, and the whole place felt relaxing. I had breakfast brought to my chalet, and they sorted out a ride into town for me. The jacuzzi was a nice extra. I had a great time and would definitely recommend it.

We stayed in the family chalet, which had loads of room and a big deck with a jacuzzi. The lake and Piedra del Peñol views were amazing. It was a great place to unwind and make memories with family and friends. Highly recommend it for a different kind of stay.
