Gran Hotel Ipiales

Just average.

Okay.

It was okay.

The rooms offer almost no sound privacy. There are openings above the entrance doors where hallway noise comes straight in, so conversations, TVs, laughter, shouting, and movement from other rooms are all easy to hear. The thin metal doors are noisy whenever they open or shut. During the day, resting is also difficult because housekeeping plays music, talks, and laughs loudly in the corridors. Housekeeping would unlock and enter rooms without warning, even if a guest might be showering or undressed. That felt like a serious disregard for privacy. There was also a problem getting our cash change back: the receptionist had none, said he would return it later, then went on break. The employee who took over knew nothing about it, and we got the money only after repeatedly insisting and spending a long time proving it was owed. My stay was very negative. With the poor service, lack of privacy, and conditions that make it hard to rest, I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
