Hostal Jardín

The house is beautiful, but we had the worst night. The bed was HARD, the WiFi didn’t work, and the noise was brutal. The hotel sits above bars whose music goes on until 2 a.m., and you can hear everything from the hallways and other rooms.

The place is beautiful and clean, and the location is great. Our room had a minibar and the basic things we needed. The front desk staff were very nice and answered our questions. The bed was extremely hard, and the WiFi was very poor. There was a lot of noise in the area until midnight. The kitchen and restaurant were closed and didn’t offer breakfast, which is why I can’t give it five stars.

The hotel is a colorful, lovely colonial-style place right on the main square, with friendly staff. The beds are rock solid, though, and there isn’t much hot water. WiFi was weak in our room but worked better in the public areas.

The balcony and architecture were gorgeous, and the staff were very kind. It was also inexpensive. But sleeping was almost impossible. The bars and tuktuks were noisy, and the taxi stand below my window had a phone that kept ringing. Things finally quieted down around 2 a.m., then the church bells started at 5. It’s a nice hotel, but I barely slept, which is the whole point of staying somewhere.
