Hotel La Casona

We wanted to stay longer, but they were fully booked. The rooms were spotless, with very comfortable beds and a nice hot shower. Staff don’t speak English, but they try really hard to understand you. There’s a small courtyard with comfortable chairs and tables where you can work. The WiFi isn’t always stable. It’s just five minutes from the bus station and five steps from the plaza. The value for money is more than okay.

The rooms have a lot of charm, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was a bit disappointing since some of the dishes weren't available, including local specialties I was hoping to try. The plumbing was noisy too, and you could hear a big racket whenever the neighbors used the toilet.

The location worked well, but the rooms felt cramped and uncomfortable. The beds were rock hard, with mattresses laid over wooden boards, and the thin walls and windows let in every sound, from the church bell to people talking next door. Breakfast was poor, and apparently there wasn't any English-speaking staff.

We found a clean room for five people on the spot, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was delicious! The hotel is right in the middle of Jardin, though there isn't any parking on site, so you have to look elsewhere in town.
