Eco Hostal Manakin Tayrona

The location left us isolated, with nothing around the hostel, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work in our room. Online photos don’t reflect what the property looks like now, and the breakfast was far from what Booking shows. At check-in, our first room had thousands of ants right beside the bed, near where your head would be. After we complained, we were moved, but it seemed only the sheets had been changed, and even those still had hair. The bathroom was extremely dirty and clearly hadn’t been cleaned. Staff seemed indifferent when we raised these problems, with no real effort to fix them or show concern. The stay was very disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

I spent one night here on my own. The room was spacious, clean, and had a comfortable bed, air conditioning, and a TV with movies and sports. The price seemed reasonable for a private room with its own bathroom, and Tayrona Park’s entrance was a five-minute bus ride away. Check-in felt unwelcoming, though, and I was the only guest, so it was very quiet with no atmosphere. The road nearby gets noisy early in the morning. They don’t speak English, which can make it hard to get information if you don’t speak Spanish. There’s nothing close by, and since they didn’t serve lunch or dinner, I had to walk 20 minutes to the nearest restaurant. Breakfast was pretty basic.

A decent hostel near Tayrona Park, but it’s right beside the road and quite noisy. There’s nowhere nearby to eat.

Simple and authentic, with really good service.
