Hotel Anaconda

We booked an Amazon river tour through the hotel's agent and had a great experience. The hotel is within walking distance of local attractions, shops, and restaurants, and the staff were helpful. The rooms were pleasant too. I loved staying here and would gladly come back.

The rooms were clean and nice, and the service was very good, but be aware that WiFi isn't available in the rooms. It only works in the lobby and pool area, on separate networks, and you have to log in again each time with a temporary code from reception, valid for either 5 hours or 2 days. I had enough mobile data to cover the gaps, but this was really not what I expected from a hotel advertising WiFi. I'd still recommend it, as long as you know about this issue.

For Leticia, this is one of the better hotels, with large, clean rooms, decent service, and a decent breakfast. There are a few straightforward improvements that could make it the best, especially since the rooms are spacious. WiFi should be available in every room, so check whether yours has it. The explanation that WiFi is weak in the Amazon doesn't hold up: we've stayed at several hotels in Leticia and the jungle, all had WiFi in the rooms, and they often used starling. Our room also had no hot water. The shower's small heating unit either didn't work or was so ineffective that the water stayed cold. These hot water units seem to be the letician idea of hot water, but they're useless in most cases.
