We booked at the last minute, but when we got to the hotel there was nobody to let us in. We knocked and called out for half an hour, then messaged management and got no reply. It was already dark and cold, so we found another hotel and left. Two hours after we cancelled the booking, management finally wrote back and offered to come open the door. The hotel is tucked far from the main street and hard to find if you’re not local. Not a great experience.

The rooms had several cockroaches, and the bathrooms were disgusting. The place is badly maintained and clearly needs pest control. The owner was nice at first, but when we needed help with a few things, he was rude and inconsiderate. We’d hoped for a pleasant evening at a nice hotel, but poor management and the maintenance problems spoiled it.

The building and place are nice, and Mr. Rafael is very friendly and has good stories to tell. It still needs better cleaning and water treatment, plus more breakfast choices. Some hammocks and comfortable chairs would be good too.
