Antique House Hostel

My friend and I spent five nights in a dorm at Antique hostel and changed beds three times because of bed bugs. We kept waking up with new, really itchy bites. It seemed like the staff and owner didn't care much or do anything to clean things up, so I can't recommend this hostel.

We stayed in Feb 2019, and it was a bad experience. We booked a room in person, but they wrote the order down wrong, so my girlfriend and I ended up without a private room on my birthday night. Before booking, we checked with the front desk guy that two guests could visit for my birthday. When they arrived, the manager kicked them out and accused us of lying about having permission. Later, after checking with his workers, he apologized to my girlfriend, but never apologized or spoke to me before the end of our stay. The showers were cold and the WiFi was a struggle. A lot of locals live in the dorm, people do drugs on the roof, and anything you leave in the common area is as good as gone.

It's great value for money, with a good kitchen, lockers, and power sockets by every bed. The place is clean, the staff are nice, and the AC is good. The location is very central. WiFi isn't very strong, and this isn't a good fit if you want to get away from the party.

Clean, friendly, and right in the middle of Medellín's most beautiful neighborhood. I loved the food, especially the brownies and kurabies cookies. Best hostel ever!
