Binn Hotel

The rooftop was a real highlight, and the city view from my spacious, comfortable room made the stay even better. Binn Hotel felt fresh and modern throughout, with a lot of care put into the design. Breakfast had plenty of high-quality choices, and the staff were kind and attentive. Adolfo especially went out of his way to make my visit enjoyable. I’d happily come back and recommend the hotel.

The breakfast was a letdown, with very few options. It tasted decent, but I expected more from a hotel that presents itself as luxurious. The design at Binn Hotel is beautiful, and at first it really does look like a luxury property, but the hospitality didn’t match the appearance. Service was fine, though not especially warm or memorable, and the staff seemed a little cold. The experience behind the polished look just didn’t meet our expectations.

Adolfo looked after us at breakfast every morning, always smiling and so attentive. Our room was roomy, with an amazing view and the comfiest bed. From the moment we got out of the taxi, the service at Binn was excellent. Check-in went smoothly, and although we arrived early, the room was nearly ready and they brought us beer while we waited. We’d gone back to Medellin after cutting our time in San Andre’s short by two days because it wasn’t what we expected. We’d also spent time in Medellin and the Darien jungle, and Binn really made up for the San Andre’s experience. It’s up the hill from the busy restaurant area in El Poblado, close enough for a quick taxi, or a walk if you want to work your quads and calves, but away from the crowds. We’re already looking forward to another trip to Medellin.

The check-in delay was frustrating. Our room still wasn’t ready at 3pm because the previous guests had checked out late. We’d asked more than once when we could get in, and the front desk knew it was a busy weekend, so better communication would have saved us time waiting in the lobby. We also only learned the hot tub was closed for maintenance when we went to use it, after it had been unavailable for 1.5 days. A heads-up at check-in would’ve helped us plan. One morning an alarm in the corridor woke us at 5:30am and kept going for 30 minutes. Checkout was uncomfortable too: they charged us for a minibar drink we hadn’t taken, and we had to challenge it several times before they removed the charge. That was disappointing after we’d spent so much at the rooftop bar and on room service. Still, most of our four nights at Binn hotel were very enjoyable. The restaurant and rooftop servers were fantastic, friendly and attentive, especially Elizabeth, who always made us feel welcome. Breakfast was very good, with lots of options, eggs made to order, fresh fruit and juices. The rooftop cocktails and large drinks selection were great, as were the views. Our room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the gym had a squat rack and a good range of equipment. At this price and as a 4* hotel, there are a few things to improve.
