Guest House Poblado

The cook ladies were absolutely adorable, and the food was good. It’s an affordable place with rooms that have what you need for a quick city visit. Communication wasn’t great, though. The city had a scheduled water cut for maintenance, but the hotel didn’t tell guests, so we had no water starting at 7am.

We liked it so much that we extended our stay a couple of times. The rooms were lovely, clean, and spacious, with big comfortable beds. Common areas were tidy, and receptionists and cleaners were always super friendly and helpful. A nice bonus is that guests can use masaya’s pool next door. Excellent stay, and I’d return in a heartbeat.

The neighborhood was lovely, and we had a big, clean ensuite room that was very comfortable. Staff were friendly, and Santiago was especially nice and helpful. We also enjoyed the breakfast, which was half buffet, a format we liked.

We stayed in three different rooms and liked them all enough to extend our stay twice. Breakfast had good options, especially the scrambled eggs. Staff suggested tour operators, and the laundry service was the fastest we’ve had in six months in South America. It’s a popular part of Poblado, so there’s some noise, but nothing unusual unless you’re a light sleeper. Great price for Poblado and a great base for exploring the cities.
