I chose this place for a trade show at Plaza Major Convention center. The green space beside the Medellín River made the neighborhood pleasant. The hotel looks renovated, but the room wasn't very well equipped: there was no proper desk and no second lock on the door. The bathroom partition wouldn't close, so I had to hold it in place to stop water from splashing out.

Getting cash was a real ordeal. Their card machine didn't work when I arrived, and I doubt it had been working for a while. At around 8pm I had to search for an ATM in Medellin that would let me withdraw, since many are locked to foreign cards at night for theft and robbery prevention. It took me over an hour of running around before I found cash. The room had no hot water that night or the next day. Breakfast was below average, and nobody seemed to be managing or looking after the hotel.

The room ended up flooding, and after seeing the place I decided not to stay. It was far from 70 street, in a strange neighborhood, and the cheap-looking, old design didn't help. A huge patch of plaster was falling off the reception wall and they hadn't even tried to repair it. The place was very dirty too. I wouldn't recommend it. Pay a little more for better rooms in the center.

The staff are very kind, but I’d only choose this place if there were no other options. One room looks out over the highway, and another has no window, just a view into reception. The linens are pretty questionable.
