Hotel Merlott Lleras

The location works well if you're after nightlife, and the price is great for what you get. It can get noisy, which comes with the area, so noise-sensitive guests may want to stay elsewhere. At check-in you have to sign a list of around ten rules and the charges for breaking them. That's unusual for a hotel, though after seeing what some people do around there, I get why they have it. As a man traveling alone, I probably set off their alarm bells. I'd call it more of a Hostel+ than a hotel.

Everything seemed normal when I paid for the first night's room by card on arrival. On my last day, they blocked that same amount on the card again. It's still blocked, so it looks like I'll end up paying twice.

Heidi did everything she could to help me, and the stay was worth the money, but the hotel itself needs a lot of work. The Wi-Fi barely exists, the toilet seat wouldn't stay up, and every time I inserted the card it took two minutes for the lights to come on. It could become a really nice place if they sorted out the little things.

The place was otherwise fine, but the room had no window to the outside, the AC was poorly maintained, and the hot water ran out fast. After checkout, I came back for my luggage and they hadn't told me I'd left behind a jacket and hoodie.
